  1. The Government of the Republic of Zambia has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of implementing the Zambia Agribusiness and Trade Project (ZATP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contracts for Tender for Proposed Construction of Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) Regional Laboratory at National Institute for Scientific and Industrial Research (NISIR) in Lusaka. Bidders may bid for one or several contracts, as further defined in the bidding document.<\/li>\n
  2. Bidders wishing to offer discounts in case they are awarded more than one contract will be allowed to do so, provided those discounts are included in the Letter of Bid For this contract, the Borrower shall process the payments using the Direct Payment disbursement method, as defined in the World Bank\u2019s Disbursement Guidelines for Investment Project Financing.<\/li>\n
  3. The Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry (MCTI) now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders registered with National Council for Construction in category B-Grade 1 or 2 <\/strong>for the Tender for Proposed Construction of Zambia Bureau of Standards (ZABS) Regional Laboratory at National Institute for Scientific and Industrial Research (NISIR) in Lusaka.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

    1. Bidding will be conducted through National Competitive procurement using a Request for Bids (RFB) as specified in the World Bank\u2019s \u201cProcurement <\/u>Regulations for IPF Borrowers\u201d July, 2016 (\u201cProcurement Regulations\u201d), and is open to all Bidders as defined in the Procurement Regulations.<\/li>\n
    2. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry (MCTI) – Procurement and Supplies Unit, P.O Box 31968, Lusaka, Zambia. The telephone number is 0211 -228308, Monday to Friday. HOWEVER, TELEGRAPHIC AND\/OR ELECTRONIC OFFERS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.<\/strong> The bidding documents can also be accessed here<\/a>.<\/li>\n
    3. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders upon payment of a non-refundable fee of K1000.00 or its equivalent in any freely convertible currency at the prevailing exchange rate in cash or by Bank certified cheque.<\/li>\n
    4. All bids should be in sealed envelopes and must be appropriately bound and delivered at the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry (MCTI) – Procurement and Supplies Unit, 10th<\/sup> Floor, New Government Complex Building, Nasser Road, P.O Box 31968, Lusaka, Zambia on or before Tuesday 31st<\/sup> August, 2021 at 10:00 hour\u2019s local time<\/strong>, clearly marked: \u201c<\/strong>TENDER FOR PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF ZAMBIA BUREAU OF STANDARDS (ZABS) REGIONAL LABORATORY AT NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR SCIENTIFIC AND INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH (NISIR) IN LUSAKA\u201d<\/strong> and addressed to the Permanent Secretary, Attention Head \u2013 Procurement and Supplies Unit, and must be sent not later than Tuesday 31st<\/sup> August, 2021 at 10:00 hour\u2019s local time. <\/strong>Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders\u2019 designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the Conference Room Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry (MCTI) – Procurement and Supplies Unit on or before Tuesday 31st<\/sup> August, 2021 at 10:00 hour\u2019s local time<\/strong>. <\/em>All Bids must be accompanied by a 2% Bid Security\u201d or \u201cBid-Securing Declaration.<\/li>\n
